WELCOME TO LITTLE BUGS NATURE PRESCHOOL!

The preschool years are an important period of time for a child’s development. During this time children are no longer totally dependent on their parents and they strive for independence. They are seeking knowledge through relationships, discoveries, problem-solving and by expressing their emotions. Simultaneously, they are seeking guidance, love and care from the adults in their lives. It is an honor that you have chosen me to play this important role in your child’s life.

In my care your child will grow and learn in countless ways. They will grow to be brave, strong and courageous as they tackle new tasks such as climbing logs and leading the way on a trail. They will form new connections and strengthen
their understanding across the developmental domains of social- emotional, cognitive, language and literacy and physical development.

I will strive to provide a safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment for your child. Every child is unique and I will try to meet each child’s interests and needs. Through play-based learning, nature-based education, and engaged
supervision I will provide your child with experiences, that will stimulate his or her mind and development.

Educational Philosophy

πŸ¦‹ I believe that empathy, love, curiosity, and respect are the
truest foundation of learning.

πŸ¦‹ I believe that childhood should be joyful and wholesome; that the earliest, most memorable kind of learning includes climbing trees, catching frogs, and making mud pies.

πŸ¦‹ I believe it is every child’s right, as an integral part of the natural native community, to develop a foundation of academic skills through encounters in the natural world.

πŸ¦‹ I believe that all children are born with a sense of wonder and I believe in keeping that wonder and magic in their hearts and minds.

πŸ¦‹ I believe in the power of loose parts to enhance, inspire and individualize each child’s play.

πŸ¦‹ I believe that the arts are an essential part of childhood,
and therefore art should be play-based and process-based to help children grow, discover, learn, and explore.

πŸ¦‹ I believe in recognizing and emphasizing cultural diversity,
and a multicultural curriculum that authentically represents the diverse history and culture of different ethnic groups.

πŸ¦‹ I believe in the power of PLAY and learning through PLAY.
