Expect that your child (and their clothing) will get dirty! If at any time your child’s clothing becomes wet and uncomfortable, I will assist them in changing into their extra set of clothes. When we head outdoors, I will help your child change into boots (if necessary). Please provide appropriate footwear for any weather to ensure your child can
freely explore.
Children need comfortable, protective shoes with gripping soles for running, jumping, and climbing. Sneakers or well-fitting hiking boots are best. Your child will need rain boots for wet and rainy days and also for visiting the stream. When we return from wet or muddy trail walks, we will
take our shoes off and leave them in the garage.
All students will have a personal box in the classroom with at least three full changes of clothing in it, including socks and underwear. This can be brought on the first day of school. It will be the responsibility of the
parent/caregiver to make sure the tote is always stocked with clean, season appropriate clothing. Please check your child’s bag everyday for
clothing that needs to be washed/dried/replaced.
I require waterproof boots and outerwear. My goal in all weather is to keep the children dry and comfortable.
BOOTS: I strongly recommend Bogs OR a type of pull on boot with no ties, zippers or Velcro. Be sure to check the temperature rating and these boots can be worn all year.
